BIOGRAPHY



Ngô Lê Thông has been Manager (reporting to HSEQ General Manager), Alpha ECC Joint Stock Company, Vietnam since October 2010, where he oversees the company’s integrated management system of occupational health, safety, environment and quality. He also acts as welding adviser to the company.Dr. Thông has extensive experience in welding and technical education . In 1984 he joined Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) where he taught welding engineering at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering until 2008. At HUST, he also was Project Coordinator for VN/Asia-Link/006 (104722) project funded by European Commision for five higher education institutions in Vietnam, Thailand, Germany and Slovakia to cooperate in welding education. Thông was member of a HUST project team to develop Vietnam’s national welding skill standards for the General Department of Vocational Education and Training (Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs).After leaving HUST , Dr. Thông joined ng am nternational Vocational College (Phu My  town, Ba Ria Vung Tau province) in June 2008 and worked as its Principal until October 2010.Dr. Thông graduated as manufacturing engineer (Ing.) from Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (Czechoslovakia) in 1979. He also obtained a PhD. qualification in manufacturing technologies from Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava in 1983. In 1998, Dr. Thông received a master degree (M.Eng. in Systems Engineering) from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Thông is International Welding Engineer (IWE) and also member of Vietnam WeldingSociety.
